Operational Buyer | Brussels
Function: Sr. Assistant – Operational Buyer – Joblevel 7
Reports to Director of Procurement in Amsterdam
Works with the Procurement team in Amsterdam and a Strategic Buyer in Brussels.
Objectives:
As Operational Buyer, you efficiently procure goods and services in alignment with organizational needs, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to established procurement processes and standards. You are in regular contact with suppliers both domestically and internationally, you follow up on timely deliveries, and you take care of the administrative follow-up in SAP. You work closely with the other employees of the purchasing department, and the various departments within the organization are your internal customers. You support them with requests for offers and/or tender procedures for operational purchasing needs, compare and assess offers and/or tenders, advise your clients on these matters, and prepare the decisions for operational purchasing.
You will also be responsible for:
- Placing orders for goods and services according to organizational requests.
- Maintaining contact with suppliers domestically and internationally.
- Monitoring timely deliveries.
- Measuring supplier performance according to contract.
- Providing data on performance.
- Analyzing and handling complaints.
- Administrative processing of supplier communication.
- Tracking and recording market and procurement developments.
Profile
- You have a Bachelor degree (preferably: logistics management, purchasing, administration…)
- Nevi 1 or similar
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar function, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
- You are fluent in MS Office (certainly Excel) and SAP;
- You can express yourself fluently in Dutch and French and you have a good knowledge of English (both spoken and written);
- Knowledge of quality systems and European and American GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) is an asset;
- You are a team player with strong communication skills;
- You are good at processing information and applying it accurately;
- You are flexible and can handle routine tasks;
- You are eager to learn and actively work on your own development;
- You can travel to Amsterdam on a regular basis to ensure close collaboration with the team.
