SENIOR LABORANT
Reports to the Supervisor QC-OPS
Objectives:
As Senior Laborant Quality Control, you will be responsible for performing QC routine tasks, various challenges and additional administration. All this is done in accordance with the applicable GMP and safety regulations, obtained guidelines and instructions. The aim is to deliver results within the predetermined timing and quality requirements, as well as to make improvements in our way of testing.
Main responsibilities:
1. You take note of, discuss and consult on instructions, guidelines and priorities with your supervisor. You make practical preparations to get a clear view of the work to be carried out:
– You take samples of water, steam, (compressed) air and perform basic analyses;
– You discuss the planning and priorities with the supervisor;
– You receive the samples in SAP and distribute them according to the required storage temperature;
2. You perform (bio)chemical and microbiological Quality Control analyses :
– You take samples or aliquots of samples and perform planned tests such as pH, protein content, polymerization, TAC and determination of endotoxins.
– You carry out an initial evaluation of the results and check them against specifications and limits;
– You help carry out research into deviations;
– You ensure the permanent follow-up of expiry dates and control the stock.
3. You are responsible for the storage and dispatch of samples according to procedures and GMP guidelines and on schedule:
– You store samples in the correct location and pack them to prepare them for transport according to the procedure;
– You prepare documentation and ensure follow-up of shipments to external labs and the billing department;
4. You ensure correct and accurate documentation during work execution, in accordance with GMP procedures:
– You are responsible for the fully independent preparation, completion and delivery of all relevant documentation;
– You fill in logbooks correctly and on time;
– You prepare the required documentation in MasterControl in-time in case of deviations from the working method or the results found (OOX).
5. You guarantee the quality and safety of the work carried out and comply with the applicable legislation, standards and rules concerning the environment, safety and quality:
– You ensure that you are sufficiently qualified to perform tasks and can carry out your work in a safe manner;
– You apply SHE regulations and comply with legal inspections and GMP guidelines;
– You apply employee and environmental welfare policies.
6. You are jointly responsible for continuous improvement, identify risks in your own working environment and actively provide input for improvement:
– You actively think about the way of working and opportunities for improvement;
– You report incidents and cooperate in any measures to prevent recurrence.
Profile:
– You have at least a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, (micro)biology, industrial pharmacy, biotechnology … or equivalent through relevant experience;
– You preferably have some experience in an equivalent position and that within the industrial sector (pharmaceutical sector is an asset);
– You have a knowledge of the MS Office package, knowledge of SAP/MasterControl is an asset;
– You are proficient in technical English and have a good knowledge of Dutch or French;
– You are meticulous and quality-conscious, and can work independently;
– After a few months’ familiarization, you can be brought in to work on weekends (max 2 shifts/month, with recup and extra pay);
– You are communicative, and you like to work together.
