Purpose of the Job 

As a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in performing routine quality control analyses. You will also be involved in various technical challenges, contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methods, and perform certain administrative tasks. All activities will be carried out in strict compliance with current GMP regulations, applicable safety standards, and internal procedures. Your primary mission is to guarantee the reliability and timeliness of results, while ensuring they meet established quality requirements.


  1. In consultation with the coordinator, team leader, and supervisor, you will review instructions, guidelines, and priorities. Together, you will discuss the tasks to be completed to ensure optimal work organization. You will make the necessary preparations to have a clear and structured overview of the activities to be carried out.


2. In this context, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Participating in planning and prioritizing tasks.

You will perform quality control analyses, both physicochemical and microbiological, on various production-related samples.

Your responsibilities include:

• Receiving samples in SAP and sorting them according to storage temperature requirements.

• Sampling water, steam, and compressed air.

• Dissolving intermediate products and preparing aliquots for analysis.

• Performing scheduled physicochemical tests.

• Conducting basic microbiological analyses according to established procedures.

• Initially evaluating the results obtained and comparing them to established specifications and limits.

• Actively participating in investigations in case of detected deviations or anomalies.

• Rigorously monitoring the expiration dates of reagents, culture media, and consumables, as well as controlling and managing laboratory inventory.


3. You are responsible for the storage and shipping of samples, strictly adhering to internal procedures, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines, and deadlines.

Your tasks include:

• Properly storing samples according to their nature and packaging them in accordance with current procedures to ensure safe transport;

• Preparing the necessary shipping documentation and tracking shipments to external laboratories;

• Transmitting relevant information to the billing department to ensure complete traceability.


4. You ensure rigorous documentation that complies with GMP requirements throughout the execution of your tasks.

In this capacity, you are specifically responsible for:

• Preparing, completing, and independently submitting all required documents, in accordance with current procedures;

• Maintaining accurate and timely logbooks, ensuring the traceability of activities;

5. You are responsible for the quality and safety of the activities carried out, in strict compliance with current legislation and applicable environmental, safety, and quality standards and procedures.

In this capacity, you commit to:

• Ensuring you possess the necessary qualifications to perform your tasks safely and professionally;

• Applying health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and complying with legal requirements and GMP guidelines;

• Actively contributing to compliance with internal policies related to employee well-being and environmental protection.


6. You share responsibility for continuous improvement within your work environment, identifying risks and actively participating in process optimization.

In this role, you will:

• Proactively consider work methods and opportunities for improvement;

• Systematically report any incidents and fully collaborate on corrective actions to prevent their recurrence.


Education, experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, (micro)biology, industrial pharmacy, biotechnology, or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Some experience in a similar role within the industrial sector (pharmaceutical experience is an asset);
  • Proficiency in MS Office software is required; knowledge of SAP/MasterControl is an asset;
  • Fluency in technical English and a good command of Dutch or French;
  • Meticulousness and a commitment to quality are essential, as is the ability to work independently;
  • After a few months of familiarization, you may be required to work weekends (maximum 2 shifts per month, with recovery day and weekend prime);
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential.
