Senior Technician – Analytical Method Development (R&D)

About the Role – Joblevel 7

We are seeking a Senior Process Technician in Analytical Method Development to join our R&D team. In this role, you will contribute to the development, qualification, and pre-validation of analytical methods, while ensuring the generation of high-quality, reliable data in a GxP-regulated environment.

You will bring strong hands-on laboratory expertise and play a key role in supporting method optimization, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory operations in line with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical Testing

  • Perform analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, ELISA, UV-Vis, and electrophoresis
  • Execute routine and non-routine testing supporting development and stability studies
  • Follow established SOPs and protocols to ensure accuracy and reproducibility
  • Record, document, and report data in compliance with GxP and data integrity standards

Method Development Support

  • Support scientists in method development, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Contribute to qualification and pre-validation activities
  • Assist in improving analytical methods and lab efficiency

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze experimental data using tools such as Minitab or equivalent statistical software
  • Interpret results in line with project objectives under scientific guidance
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal quality standards

Laboratory Operations

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • Ensure availability of reagents, standards, and consumables
  • Participate in lab organization (5S), safety, and housekeeping initiatives

Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, QC, QA, and Manufacturing teams
  • Contribute to project discussions and technical problem-solving
  • Support project timelines and deliverables

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Train team members on laboratory techniques and equipment
  • Share best practices to ensure consistent quality and compliance

GxP Compliance

  • Apply and maintain knowledge of GxP requirements within daily activities
  • Support SOP writing, deviations, and change control documentation
  • Ensure adherence to training requirements and escalate compliance issues when necessary

Your Profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar laboratory role within pharmaceutical or biotech environments

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with analytical techniques such as:
    • HPLC
    • ELISA
    • UV-Vis spectroscopy
    • SDS-PAGE / electrophoresis
  • Familiar with laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Knowledge of GxP guidelines and SOP documentation

Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Solution-oriented mindset and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Languages & Tools

  • Fluency in English and French and/or Dutch
  • Comfortable with MS Office and laboratory software tools
